some problems with invitations
1. i tried to invite a non-member friend to join. the system said that the invitation was not successful because the e-mail failed to be sent. i tried to invite the same user again, but the system said he was already on my invite list.
2. i invited a member to be in my contacts by clicking the "invite" button. i was then sent to the invite new user page. this is confusing - i wasn't sure if my invitation was sent or if i needed to do it through that page. a simple "invitation sent" message or something like that would easily clear such confusion.

looking into it, thanks for the feedback!
1) I suspect this has something to do with poor server performance - something we are too (painfully) aware of.
however, the code definitely could use a revision to make it more robust in that area, and I know how - so I hope we will get to it in the future.
2) actually it should show a message (green, at the top), and if it doesn't something isn't ok. I will test it, and if you encounter this again please let me know.
